Andy has worked his entire life to set himself apart from the crowd. One way he has done that is by getting an education beyond high school. Andy graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors in Business Management and Real Estate and a minor in Advertising and PR. The class room experience coupled with his real life experience in the Motorsports business sets him apart from the rest. Not only does Andy have the knowledge of what it takes to succeed on the race track to win races but also to survive and grow as a business. Being a team owner is a very complex business to be in as there is a real fine line between business success and bankruptcy however Andy’s knowledge and experience will be able to help the team owner avoid the costly pitfalls, especially at start up. Andy helped start Aiken Racing, a USFF2000 Zetec Pro Series team which in its second year won the championship. Andy was also one of the first drivers for Roar Racing in the Koni Challenge and stayed with the team for a number of years. The team is now a front running team that has led races and while Andy cannot take all of the credit, he was certainly a part of the TEAM that is required to be successful. Most recently Andy has joined Meyer Motorsports, another new Koni Challenge team and has worked to get the team off the ground in short order. On the other end of the spectrum, Andy has competed for factory efforts like Team Lexus in Koni Challenge, a factory funded effort based out of Maryland. Andy has also been privileged enough to be invited by Porsche to test with their Junior team and learn about their factory programs. Andy understands that whether it is a grassroots SCCA, NASA, or PCA effort to the large professional sports car teams, everyone has their own goals. It is important to define those goals and how to go about achieving those goals while also being able to measure the success and progress along the way.
