Meyer Motorsports Charging To Mid-Ohio
TEAM GAINING MOMENTUM FOR MID-OHIO

COLUMBIA, SC (June 17, 2008) –Meyer Motorsports’ second KONI Challenge event was this past weekend as the series traveled north to Mosport. The team had some mixed fortune although the #16 RamTECH entry was able to put together a solid run to the checkered finishing in 16th place. One of the many highlights for Meyer Motorsports at Mosport was team chemistry. The team really gelled and was able to work as a team. All of the team members worked hard on and off of the track and knew their roles and executed. Mechanically the cars were sound and the handling was awesome for the team’s Mazda’s. “Seeing the guys come together and work well as a team is a really neat thing,” commented owner and driver Eric Meyer, “They worked hard to make sure the cars were in the best possible condition and communicated well with the drivers to make things even better.” Due to unfortunate circumstances at Mosport, Meyer Motorsports has decided to focus all of its energy on the #16 RamTECH entry driven by veteran Andy Brumbaugh and series rookie Sam Stuard for the next few weeks. This will really allow the team to fully develop the car and learn much more. Having the crew focus everything on one car instead of splitting the time and effort between two cars will allow everyone to have a better understanding of what makes these cars go fast and be competitive. When the #30 Mazda rejoins the series in a few races, the team will know it is absolutely ready and competitive. This weekend is Mid-Ohio, a favorite for many drivers and teams in the KONI Challenge. A field of 51 cars has entered the event and it is sure to provide lots of close racing. “Mid-Ohio is one of my favorite tracks, I was born in Ohio and usually have friends and family attend this event. I have always been competitive at this track and I see no reason why we can’t be up front this coming weekend,” said RamTECH driver Andy Brumbaugh.

Meyer Motorsports and RamTECH are confident that the #16 Mazda will be near the front of the grid for this weekends race, which will be aired on SPEED on June 28th at 2pm Eastern. Fans can follow along with the team’s progress this season via their website, www.meyer-motorsports.com or visit the KONI Challenge home page at www.grand-am.com/koni to view driver Andy Brumbaugh’s weekly blog on the season.

Rolex Series!
This past weekend was an unforgettable one for me! I was fortunate enough to be a part of GTS Racing’s plans for the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of Watkins Glen. First off, a big thank you to GTS Racing with Mitchum Motorsports for such a professional and fun effort in the face of adversity. The team is run by Chris Mitchum and Mitchum Motorsports. Chris has been a personal friend of mine for a couple of years as we have worked together in the past. The team uses a Porsche 997 and I have a soft spot for Porsche’s so I was pumped and ready to go!

I arrived at the track on Thursday afternoon and took the time to get familiar with the car, its controls, and meet the team members. I couldn’t wait for the event to arrive! This wasn’t my first time racing in the Rolex Series but it was my first time this season. The Rolex Series is a great place to race and one that I hope to become a regular in in the near future. Thursday was a long day for me because I had to get up at 3AM to catch my flight so by 9 that night I was out like a light. Friday morning came and it was finally time to get in the car! Man was I excited! Our first session was ok. All three drivers got a chance to get behind the wheel although due to some black flags, none of us got the sort of track time we were hoping for. At least this was a start and we could build from here. The second session didn’t go to plan for us and we weren’t able to participate. That is ok though because I knew what I had to do for qualifying.

Qualifying came around and I knocked another 2.25 seconds off of my time from practice. Being only my second session in the car I was still learning and leaving some on the table but it was nice progress none the less. We qualified 19th which wasn’t where we wanted. We were hoping for something in the top 8 to 12 range but looking at the times, knowing where I was giving up time, and making some tweaks to the car’s handling, I was full of confidence going into the race. Before I knew it it was Saturday and time to race!

This weekend was really flying by. As I sat on the grid waiting for us to roll off for the start I had goosebumps. As I said earilier, I was so excited to be a part of the Rolex series and knew how hard it was to find an opportunity like this that I was just ready to get the race started. The green flag dropped and I was off. I picked up a couple of positions on the start and then a couple of cars got together in front of me and I was able to pick up a couple more spots. Due to a great strategy call, most of the cars would pit under the first full course caution but we stayed out knowing how important it would be for us to get track position. Sure enough, we were running in the top ten after that, right where we knew we could race! Unfortunately about 30 minutes into the race we had an unexpected mechanical problem that sidelined us from the remainder of the event.

We as a team were disappointed because we knew the potential that was in the car but all you can do is hold your head up and go on to the next event.

A big thank you to Mitchum Motorsports, GTS Racing and our sponsors for the weekend: BL Patch & Associates, InterMedia, Carolina Motorsports Park, Churchill Transport, DUB, Haimov Watches, and Strut. My next event is coming right up. We are racing this weekend in the KONI Challenge event at Mosport, a track I have had a lot of success at in the past and I can’t wait to get on track once again!

GTS Racing with Mitchum Motorsports Watkins Glen Preview
BRUMBAUGH TO JOIN TEAM FOR 6 HOUR EVENT

COLUMBIA, SC (June 2, 2008) The newly formed GTS Racing with Mitchum Motorsports Team is excited about Watkins Glen. This will be the first time the team has competed with the car prepped wholly by themselves. "We have taken advantage of the time since Homestead and moved the entire operation to a new shop in Richmond, Va. that is dedicated to the teams Porsche 997 GT entry. Our goal is to compete at the highest level possible and have fun. Given the current level of competition in the GT field we think our effort will stack up very well," stated team manager and crew chief Chris Mitchum.

The team is confident of having a strong effort at the Glen to show how well they have come together since the Homestead event. "The team has tested on multiple occasions to develop the car at Carolina Motorsports Park. The team has combined the on track work and in house development to put the best foot forward for the Glen. We are having a good time and the package should be very competitive,” Mitchum said.

Driving for the team this weekend will be long time Grand-Am Rolex GT competitors Bransen Patch and Jim Michaelian. Joining the two drivers will be Andy Brumbaugh of Columbia, SC. Brumbaugh is a full-time KONI Challenge competitor and former UPS-Porsche Junior team shootout driver. Chris Mitchum said, "I am excited and pleased that Andy is joining the team for the Sahlens 6 hours of the Glen. We have been friends and co-workers for a while and I think that this is a great opportunity for both of us. I believe in his talent and feel that he will be a real asset to the team."

The GTS Racing with Mitchum Motorsports Porsche is partnered with BLPatch and Associates, Carolina Motorsports Park, InterMedia, Churchill Transport, DUB, Haimov Watches, and Strut. Cars will take to the track on Friday for practice and qualifying with the race on Saturday, televised by SPEED.

Meyer Motorsports Mosport Preview
TEAM SET TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION AT ITS SECOND EVENT

COLUMBIA, SC (June 11, 2008) –Meyer Motorsports is ready for their second event in the KONI Challenge and first event north of the border. The ultra competitive series returns to Mosport this weekend, a favorite for many drivers. Meyer Motorsports will be competing again with the flat black Mazda RX-8’s; #16 RamTECH entry driven by Sam Stuard and Andy Brumbaugh and the #30 K1racegear.com entry driven by Peyton Wilson and Eric Meyer. The crew has been working extra hard since our debut race at Lime Rock. "We believe we've unveiled our electronic gremlins. For Lime Rock, the cars handled super great but the power fell off early in the race. Our cornering speeds were killer but the straightaway's were killing us. We're pretty sure it's heat related and it's fixed. For good" offered Eric Meyer, Team owner and driver of the #30 RX8. Watch for the two black RX8's near the front of the pack. Sam Stuard, driver of the RamTECH Mazda said, "Back in the saddle just north of the border for round 3 of the KONI Challenge series. Lime rock was our debut with Meyer-Motorsports; now that most of the bugs are worked out of the car I am sure the Meyer-Motorsports car #16 and #30 will be very competitive. Mosport is a second home to me and we are looking to exploit the advantages of the Rx8. Thanks again to the RamTECH team for support." The Meyer Motorsports team knows that any race in this series is tough and being relative newcomers doesn’t make things easier.

However, with the blood, sweat, and tears put into the effort so far this year, the black RX-8’s are getting closer and closer to victory lane. Cars get on track for testing on Thursday with the green flag flying on Saturday. Meyer Motorsports is confident in their preparation, cars, and drivers and looks to have a solid race at this fast track. Fans can follow along with the team’s progress this season via their website, www.meyer-motorsports.com or visit the KONI Challenge home page at www.grand-am.com/koni to view driver Andy Brumbaugh’s weekly blog on the season.

Meyer Motorsports Lime Rock Recap
TEAM GETS TO THE CHECKERED ON DEBUT RACE

COLUMBIA, SC (May 28, 2008) –Meyer Motorsports’ inaugural race in the KONI Challenge is now under their belts. The event was certainly a roller coaster for the two car team. The #30 K1racegear.com entry was on track for the majority of the weekend sessions gathering useful data on the track. The #16 RamTECH entry was not so fortunate. Unfortunately, the RamTECH entry suffered an engine failure at the beginning of the first practice session of the weekend. By the time a replacement was located and installed, the next session would be the race! Sam Stuard would start the RamTECH car from the rear of the field (having missed the qualifying session) and steadily work his way up until handing the car over to co-driver Andy Brumbaugh. Sam commented on the weekend, "Lime Rock proved to be a struggle from early on in the weekend. Prior to the start of the race the RamTECH #16 car had run only 2 full laps before the engine failed. The team hustled to get the car finished before the race finishing the installation and setup with only 30 minutes till green.

Having missed the morning practice and qualifying added to the excitement; I felt the car out for the first few laps before making any moves. Nearing the end of my stint, I had moved about 20 positions before being hit by an Acura that damaged the car and changed the setup making it difficult to drive. The final half of the race we struggled with setup and fuel delivery problems making the car impossible to drive. Hats off to the team for their effort and to Lime Rock Park for a great weekend." Brumbaugh drove his stint although a fuel pick up problem limited the potential of the car during the second half of the race. The #30 K1racegear.com entry was able to qualify in the middle of the field. Not a bad effort for the first time team and rookie KONI driver/owner, Eric Meyer. With the competitive fields, Meyer was right in the thick of the battle. Meyer would move up the standings at the start of the race only to have a similar fuel pickup issue change the team’s strategy into one of just finishing the race. Peyton Wilson was able to take over the driving duties from Meyer and keep the car on track for the team’s first ever finish in its first KONI Challenge event. Meyer Motorsports Lime Rock Preview
TEAM TO MAKE KONI CHALLENGE DEBUT AT LIME ROCK THIS SATURDAY

COLUMBIA, SC (May 22, 2008) –Meyer Motorsports is about to embark on an incredible journey. The team’s two Mazda RX-8’s, numbers 16 and 30, will circle the Lime Rock track beginning with Friday practice and are looking for a solid debut. Just a few months ago these cars were driving around the streets, now they will be fighting for victory in one of the largest fields (50 entries) the KONI Challenge ST class has seen. Completing all of the laps in the race is the first priority for the team as every lap that the team completes adds to the teams database.

Meyer Motorsports is not content, however, to just ride around the track as the entire crew from top to bottom has worked relentlessly on making the Mazda’s reliable and fast. When asked about the weekend, owner and driver of the #30 Eric Meyer said, “You know that feeling of butterfly's in your stomach, thinking about if you left anything back at the shop and the huge excitement you get when you just aligned your cars and all the corners come out only a few pounds apart? That's how I'm feeling right now--fantastic. Look out world, here come the Meyer Motorsports Team!" Several new cars and teams will make their debut this weekend in the Street Touring category however Meyer Motorsports is confident that their cars will be able to compete at the sharp end of the grid.

The #16 RamTECH entry for the team will be piloted all season by SCCA Runoffs runner-up Sam Stuard and KONI Challenge veteran Andy Brumbaugh. The RamTECH program began at Daytona this year and was running in the top ten until being hit in the rear by a car in a different class. Now with Meyer Motorsports, the RamTECH car is ready to make up for Daytona with a great finish. Completing the driver lineup in the #30 entry with sponsorship from K1RaceGear.com will be Peyton Wilson of Chantilly, VA. Wilson has 15 years of racing experience in Mazda’s including the new SCCA Pro Racing MX-5 cup, Spec Miata, Koni Challenge, SCCA World Challenge and numerous club racing events. He is the holder of several track records at various East Coast race courses. In addition to driving race cars, he is a Counter Terrorism driving instructor for the Federal Government. Meyer Motorsports Enters KONI Challenge: Signs Stuard and Brumbaugh
ANDY BRUMBAUGH AND SAM STUARD TO RUN FULL SEASON

COLUMBIA, SC (May 1, 2008) –Meyer Motorsports will campaign Mazda RX-8’s for the remainder of the 2008 KONI Challenge Series. The Indianapolis based team has worked around the clock for the last several months to build two competitive cars from the ground up. Meyer Motorsports, led by team owner and driver of the #30 car, Eric Meyer and crew chief Terry Rosenkoetter have researched long and hard to make sure the teams cars have the best equipment and have been well developed. While the team may be new to the competitive KONI Challenge they are not new to racing and are excited about the 2008 season. Competing in the #16 RamTECH entry will be series veteran Andy Brumbaugh, a former Team Lexus driver and promising rookie Sam Stuard who finished second at the 2008 SCCA Runoffs in only his first attempt.

“I am pleased and very excited to announce that my co-driver (Andy Brumbaugh) and I signed with Meyer Motorsports. As a rookie driver in my first year of sedan racing, I feel the team organization will teach me the fundamentals of Pro Racing and be a catalyst for my future career,” said Stuard. “Meyer Motorsports will be great, professional representation for my sponsor RamTECH. I am also excited about bringing the whole RamTECH family of employees along with me to Grand-Am.” Team owner Eric Meyer said, “Who could have imagined that a club racer could start a Grand-Am team in January, build two competitive cars from scratch, hire three full time hard working crew members, staff a full season of volunteers and crew and find five fast drivers in four months—for our rookie season! I’m excited about the upcoming year and the lessons that Grand-Am will allow us to learn. Mazda’s parts support has been great and everyone affiliated with the team has extended themselves many, many times along with too many 16 hour days. Special thanks to the many Koni and Rolex teams, drivers and crew for offering hints, suggestions and advice to get us up to speed quickly.”

“I am very excited to be racing with Sam Stuard and Meyer Motorsports this season. Sam is a fast driver and Meyer Motorsports is a winner,” said Brumbaugh. “I have been in love with sports car racing ever since testing with Porsche in Germany. However, this is the first time I have been in a position to compete for a full season in sports cars. Despite this being the team’s first season in KONI Challenge, we fully expect to be at the sharp end of the results with all the talent and dedication we have. We are all working really hard to make that happen.” Fans can follow along with the teams progress this season via their website, www.meyer-motorsports.com or visit the KONI Challenge home page at www.grand-am.com/koni to view driver Andy Brumbaugh’s weekly blog on the season.
